From the Founder

Started on a CRT. Still chasing the perfect run.

PulsePlay was founded in 2026 by a collective of Wellington-based gamers and tech testers. We were tired of reading reviews that felt more like marketing brochures, so we started our own journal.

Ten years in software evaluation taught us one thing: honesty pays off. If a triple-A release has frame pacing stuttering, we tell you immediately, so you do not waste your hard-earned dollars.

"Our hardware validation criteria are absolute. No cherry-picked units, only real store purchases."

How do you fund your gaming reviews and benchmarking processes?

Through reader donations and clean consumer services. We never host publisher-paid promotional materials on our website.

Only under explicit written agreements that we retain total content control. For major hardware items, we purchase them directly from local NZ retailers.

Where can we find your physical testing laboratory?

We operate our server-latency rig and benchmarking hardware suite in central Wellington, New Zealand. We do not support on-site walk-ins to protect developer secrecy.
